Building on recent progress

Over the last two legislative sessions, state leaders have made major investments in the health and safety of Texas seniors. As a result, Texas’ nursing home quality ranking has risen significantly.

State leaders know now is not the time to lose momentum and will continue fighting for Texas seniors in nursing homes.

Priorities for the coming session

This coming session, state leaders will address issues to protect Texas nursing home residents during emergencies and help ensure Texas seniors can more easily access their Medicare Advantage benefits. They will also continue working toward a sustainable funding mechanism.
